For the last several days, there has been buzz in the Church of God in Malaysia (CGM) branch in Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, of an internal disagreement between the senior pastors. Each party has alleged that the other is trying to undermine the leadership. But as I tell the Producers of AsiaOne News every evening, despite the many issues that plague the Church of God, they always manage to hold an attractive service attended by large numbers of people.
Malaysian politics is even more complicated than that. The most recent entry into politics of the Church of God seems to have tapped into a rich vein of discontent, but also hints at the ethnic division in Malaysia.
